Philanthropy Northwest announces Community Foundation Initiative
Philanthropy Northwest is pleased to announce a unique initiative to support community foundations in their role as philanthropic champions of community well-being.
Thanks to generous underwriting from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Philanthropy Northwest will re-grant one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000) to Washington community foundations to help them build the capacity of nonprofit organizations providing critical services in their areas.
Additionally, Philanthropy Northwest will dedicate staff to support a peer network of community foundations in Washington state and throughout the region. The initiative was announced last week at a gathering of Washington community foundations in Bellingham, Washington. Read more about the initiative.
